Sundays – 10am – New Bedford - Meditation for Kids - Parents wish for their children to be happy. All good qualities, such as kindness, patience and generosity can be developed through listening to and practicing Buddha's teachings. Through meditation, teachings, story-telling, arts & crafts, and other fun activities, this special class is designed to help children develop inner happiness while sharing a meaningful and fun family experience. These classes are designed for children ages 5 to 12. $4 per child.  An adult must accompany children. Drop-ins Welcome. Sundays thru 12/18 – 6–7pm – Warwick - Bring Your Own Improv! - Bring Your Own Improv (BYOI) is now in its fourth season! This is an interactive improv show that welcomes voluntary audience participation! Fridays – 3:00-3:30pm – Pawtucket – StoryTime Yoga - Great books and a Puppet Family take center stage. We'll warm-up our bodies with a game or a Sundance before our story. Books are chosen that naturally lend themselves to yoga. These are stories that focus on animals and elements of nature - the basis of many yoga poses. We’ll stop the story, do the pose, maybe sing a song, and then continue with the story. AGES 0-5 FREE! Venture out on a low-to-high-altitude trek through Denali's breathtaking ecosystems.  1/29:  Secret Yellowstone - Discover the backcountry wilderness and majestic beauty of America’s first national park. Explore some of the 300 newly discovered waterfalls and learn how wolves, back after five decades of absence from Yellowstone, are helping restore the balance in the ecosystem alongside the grizzly bear and bison. 1/14 – 10am-12pm – Smithfield - Animal Tracks and Signs for Families - Learn how to identify different tracks and other signs of our native mammals and birds. Start inside to explore track patterns, investigate artifacts, and make plaster tracks to take home. Then we’ll venture out on the trails to see what evidence we can find that wild things have been there. Although all are welcome, this class will be geared for families with children. Dress warmly. 1/21 & 1/22 – 11am-2pm - Providence - Create a Car - Inspired by The Power to Play: From Trash to Treasure, an exhibit of toys handmade by children from around the world, kids use their creativity and an array of repurposed materials to design and construct their own moving vehicles.

1/28 - 10:30am–1pm – Middletown - Winter Birding at Sachuest Point - Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is one of the few places in Rhode Island where the “hot” birding comes during the colder months. Winter specialties include Horned Larks, Snow Buntings, Short-eared Owls, Purple Sandpipers, and the stars of the show, Harlequin Ducks. We’ll meet in the refuge parking lot and head for the shore to look for waterfowl and other winter residents of the rocky seashore and scrubby coastal habitats. 1/28 – 1-4pm – North Smithfield - Snowshoeing at Fort Refuge - Explore the beauty of the Fort Wildlife Refuge in winter! Look for tracks and other signs of wildlife. If there is no snow we will hike the trails. If the trails are too icy the program will be cancelled. You must supply your own snowshoes or they can be rented from REI or Eastern Mountain Sports.
